Introduction
The Go team wants to hear from you! Each year, we launch the Go Developer Survey to learn how Go is working for developers around the world. Your feedback directly influences the future of the language, tooling, and community. Whether you're a beginner or a veteran Gopher, your voice matters. This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to participate—from finding the survey to sharing it with others. By the end, you'll be ready to contribute to the data that helps shape Go's evolution.

What You Need
- A device with internet access (desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone).
- About 10–20 minutes of uninterrupted time.
- Your honest opinions about using Go.
- Optional: willingness to allow your responses to be shared in a public dataset.
Step-by-Step Guide
-
Step 1: Locate the Survey
The official survey is hosted on the Go blog. You can access it directly by visiting the Go Developer Survey 2025 page. The link is also available on the Go Blog homepage. Make sure you use the official URL to avoid phishing attempts. The survey will be open from September 16, 2025 until September 30, 2025. After that date, the form closes and you won’t be able to submit responses.
-
Step 2: Complete the Questionnaire
Once you open the survey, you’ll see a series of questions covering topics like your experience with Go, the tools you use, performance concerns, and features you’d like to see. Every question is optional, so you can skip anything you prefer not to answer. The estimated time to finish is 10–20 minutes, depending on how detailed your answers are. Take your time and be honest—this helps the Go team understand real-world needs.
-
Step 3: Decide on Data Sharing (Optional but Important)
This year, the Go team is following an opt-in model similar to Go Telemetry. At the end of the survey, you’ll be asked for permission to include your responses in a public dataset. If you agree, your anonymized answers will be released alongside the aggregated results in early November. This allows the whole community to analyze the data. If you decline, your responses will remain private. Only give permission if you’re comfortable with your data being shared.
-
Step 4: Submit Your Responses
After answering all the questions (or skipping the ones you don’t want), click the submit button. You should see a confirmation message. If not, double-check your internet connection. Once submitted, you cannot edit your answers. That’s it—you’ve made your voice heard!
-
Step 5: Spread the Word
The more developers who participate, the richer the data. Share the survey with your colleagues, friends, and online communities (like Slack channels, forums, or social media). Use the hashtag #GoSurvey if you post about it. A diverse set of respondents helps the Go team better understand the needs of developers across different industries, regions, and experience levels.
Tips and Reminders
- Deadline: The survey closes on September 30, 2025. Set a reminder if you tend to procrastinate!
- Results: Aggregated findings will be published on the Go Blog in early November 2025. Keep an eye out for the post titled “Go Developer Survey 2025 Results”.
- Raw dataset: If you opt in, the raw dataset will also be released in November. You can use it for your own analyses or research.
- Not a Go user? If you’ve tried Go in the past or are just curious, your feedback still counts. The survey includes sections for non-users and former users.
- Need help? Check the Go FAQ or reach out via the golang-dev mailing list. Do not share the survey link on non-official channels without verifying it’s legitimate.
- Be respectful: When discussing the survey in public forums, remember that everyone’s experience is valid. The goal is to improve Go for all.
Thank you for helping shape the future of Go! Your feedback is invaluable to the team and the entire community. If you have any questions about the survey process, feel free to revisit the step above or check the Go Blog for updates.
